1. What is Biophilic Design?
Biophilic design is a concept that incorporates nature into the built environment, just about ALL COLOURS EXIST IN NATURE. (exept for pure white). so just a little reminder that biophilic design does not exclude colour it is how it is integrated that counts. Biophilic Design seek to create a connection between people and the natural world by integrating natural elements, such as plants, water, and sunlight, into the design of buildings and spaces. By doing so, biophilic design can improve mental and physical well-being, increase productivity, and reduce stress.
2. As the days get longer we can have access to more sun light.
As winter fades away and the days get longer, we can finally bask in the warmth and light of the sun. I love this, it allows me to plan for my time in the fresh air over a wider time range. Also what I love is finding the wild field flowers , bluebells, or primroses or buttercups and many more.
Having longer days also means we have the opportunity to incorporate more natural light into our homes, which is a key aspect of biophilic design. By allowing natural light to flow into your space, you can create a brighter and more vibrant atmosphere that helps you feel more connected to the outdoors.
This is just one way that biophilic design can contribute to a more sustainable home that benefits both you and the planet.
Now that we understand the importance of natural light in biophilic design, we can appreciate the value of integrating spring colors into our homes.; and yes maybe bring in a bunch of those colourful wild flowers you saw on your walk or why not daffodils or tulips
These colours can help bring the energy of spring inside, creating a space that feels fresh and invigorating.,
3. Integrating Spring Colors into Your Home
Spring is a season of new beginnings, and it’s the perfect time to freshen up our homes with the colors of the season and not only by bringing flowers in but also incorporating bright, lively shades of green, yellow, and purple through accessories, so that we can create an environment that feels more connected to the natural world outside.
Colour is enhanced by light, it stimulates emotions . You don’t need to shout out with colour to get noticed – it simply needs a purposeful role.
One way to bring these colors into our homes discreetly is through accent pieces such as throw pillows, curtains, or rugs. These small touches can add pops of color and texture without overwhelming the space.
It’s important to remember that less is often more when it comes to color. Select just a few of these key pieces or accents to incorporate into your design, rather than going overboard with too many shades and patterns. This will ensure that your home feels inviting and not overwhelming.
If you feel courageous and want to take it one step further an option is to paint an accent wall in a vibrant shade of green or yellow, creating a focal point in the room. Or Even change your sofa , maybe yellow or blue ..or pink
And in a blink of an eye we have brought spring colors into our homes, creating a more inviting and energizing space that feels connected to the natural world.
AND did I say bring in the flowers… starting 21st march this has become one of my weekly routines (fresh cut); so lets start with tulips.
